Current Team Feelings Rankings

From most to least tolerated:

-Celia - Who is this person??? Why is she asking him uncomfortable personal questions??? Why does she keep saying quietly perceptive things??? Why would she volunteer to get screwed over for the sake of family?? WHY IS BLACK INK CONSTANTLY SEEPING FROM HER HEAD Despite how crushingly uncomfortable Celia makes him, her apparent understanding and appreciation of his 'realistic' worldview moves her up the ranks. She seems to *get* it more than most, which counts for something.

-Ishaq - Max doesn't have friends, let alone 'best' friends. Stop trying to hug him. Ishaq is good in a fight and good at talking, which makes him tactically valuable, a complement to Max's own more physical talents. He also seems to appreciate Max's tactics, which counts for a lot. More than that, Max can't help but identify with his situation with Ayleen due to his own experience with betrayal. However, Ishaq's risky behaviour and idealistic attitudes mark him as a potential threat in Max's view.

-Markoris - quiet, professional, wrestles goblins and shoots basilisks in the eyeball. Max asks for little more from the people around him.

-Alice - great muscles, useful magic, takes initiative in tough situations, sentimental in a way that usually spells trouble to Max. Her moral insistence is something he rolls his eyes at, and yet she's up here in the rankings instead of lower... must be a typo or something.

-Alana - acts naive and sentimental, and keeps secrets about apocalypse orbs. He doesn't know what to make of her and almost hopes she has a hidden ruthless edge that would be more respectable to him than the person who tries to feed owlbears. At least she's willing to arm-wrestle for bacon.

-Fishboy - great muscles, but strange and off-putting and frustratingly naive about seemingly everything. His apparent lack of bitterness at how the goblins treated him is bizarre to Max. And who talks to fish instead of eating them?

-Sol - the most tolerable of the guards, especially when he's blasting wyverns or thinking ahead to lay down a trail in dark caves. Still on the Other Side in Max's reckoning.

-Raul - Max still wants those fifteen coppers, Raul.

-Talith - this fucking tool. The most visible face of a Crown that Max lost respect for a long time ago, Talith also wields power over Max's fate in a way he has no answer or counter to. And insisting he owes her fifty gold for chain mail??? Uncool. He has seen no reason to be impressed with her tactical sense or combat skill. Beyond that, he views her as someone without any great cruelty or ambition, which is why he feels he can get away with mouthing off to her as much as he does, but has no respect for what he sees as the lockstep obedience of someone following a false cause. More than anything though, Talith's apparently dutiful, loyal and protective nature rankles on Max as it is an all too familiar reminder of his own experience with [REDACTED]
